Meditation space from the feng shui point of view 2

The five human senses, sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste, also contribute to both your meditation space and your inner experience. No single sense stands alone; each one integrates with the others. Here are some examples you may want to consider for your meditation space.

  • Seeing: Things which convey serene Chi.  A sculpture of Buddha, a scroll or picture of the season. a Himalayan Salt light or Indoor plants.

  • Hearing: The gentle sound of a tabletop water fountain, relaxing music, or natural weather sounds such as a soft breeze or light rain can all support a calm flow of Chi. Even the absence of sound is a form of Chi flow.

  • Touching: Soft cushions, natural fabrics, warm blankets, and gentle textures that help your body feel supported and grounded.

  • Smelling: Natural scents like flowers or the clean smell of rain support gentle Chi. Avoid artificial air fresheners or perfume. (I personally do not use any incense.)

  • Tasting: Chinese tea, Japanese tea, herbal tea, or whatever you prefer. This tea time serves as a transition from meditation to gradually returning to your daily routine. While enjoying the tea, you thank the space, the atmosphere, the meditation itself, and yourself for the peaceful time, the cleared emotions, and the re-energized mind. This moment of gratitude completes your session in your meditation space.
